Cocktail And Scent Pairing With Hamo Hospitality
Step into a new kind of sensory experience - where cocktails and fragrance come together. In a first for Geelong, Aysha Hansen Fine Fragrances partners with 1915, Anther Distillery and The Woolstore to introduce a new way to savour cocktails.
Kruz and Eric of Hamo Hospitality have crafted five incredible cocktails that tell stories of Geelong, using locally distilled Anther spirits.
I’ve created three Aysha Hansen fragrances to complement and offset each drink...taking the cocktail experience deeper into the senses.
What Is Scent Pairing?
An emerging concept in hospitality, scent pairing invites us to experience drinks in a completely different way. Every cocktail carries its own intricate flavour profile - shaped by its base spirit, preparation and final garnish. These elements can be deconstructed and reimagined through scent, offering new pathways for storytelling, emotion and sensory exploration
By pairing cocktails with custom-designed fragrances, the experience becomes multi-dimensional. Scent deepens our connection to flavour, evoking memory, mood, and place. It turns aroma into a key ingredient...one that complements, contrasts and enhances the drink itself.
Cocktail/scent pairing can be used to engage, spark curiosity and inspire deeper conversations about taste, technique and experience.
The Fragrances
‘Innovation’ is designed to capture the essence of the history of the Federal Mills Precinct from its earliest days manufacturing woollen textile for the construction of the Australian Military garments and blankets for World War 1.
This fragrance evokes a time where factory workers wore their leather shoes and boots, smoked their tobacco, while the Federal Mills chimney poured out billows of plume.
The wool notes give off a comforting feeling and cosiness next to the industrial coal, old world elements with wood, spice, and freshness of the open surrounding grounds.
It’s a fragrance and a time piece.
‘Juice’ is a fragrance best described as juicy in nature. With a bright pop and sheen. A very succulent and delicious tasting freshness, plump with Blackcurrant leaf, and cassis, and citrus notes, and some more herbaceous, floral and savoury Australian native elements with top notes of mandarin, bergamot and pink pepper.
It’s the juice, because it has the juice, and without squeezing your senses.
‘Girls Night Out’ is a fragrance created to evoke the feminine energy, and spirit of a girls night out.
The feminine floral amber is balanced with white musk and leather which gives it a more racy feeling and sophistication.
Added spun sugar gives this an ultra chic and deliciously tasting scent which is lovely, and easy to invite.
Smell, sip and enjoy this unique sensory experience at Hamo Hospitality venues from Friday 20 June.
